25th Brooklyn Film Festival announces lineup with theme of 'Unthinkable'

NEW YORK (1010WINS) -- The Brooklyn Film Festival is back for its 25th edition -- the theme is 'Unthinkable' -- with over 29 world premieres to be shown in-person at Windmill Studios in Greenpoint. The festival (BFF) will be staged from June 3-12 with both indoor screenings and online screenings via the festival website.

The festival starts off with a powerful coming-of-age drama-thriller, "Signs of Love," written and directed by Clarence Fuller starring Rosanna Arquette, Hopper Jack Penn, Dylan Penn, and Wass Stevens.

Over the course of 10 days, film lovers will be able to view 143 features and shorts from 34 countries accessible online.

The highlighted categories remain the same: documentary feature, experimental, animation, feature narrative, short documentary and short narrative.

The feature narratives include "Leon’s Fantasy Cut," "Stag," "Welcome Violeta!," "Dreamlife," "Pedro Between The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea," "Balloon Animal," "Ragged Heart," "Shambala," "Wake Up Leonard," and "Learn To Swim."

BBF first took place in 1998 in hopes to provide a public forum in Brooklyn to advance interest in film and independent production. The full lineup includes eight documentary features, 20 narrative shorts, 20 documentary shorts, 23 animations, 21 experimental films, and 12 narrative features. It will also feature 19 films as it continues to host its annual KidsFilmFest on June 4, which is in its 18th year.
