
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Four young males were charged in a shooting at a Bronx basketball tournament that left one man dead and a teen fighting for her life, officials said Sunday.
The shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday during a basketball tournament at Haffen Park in Baychester, authorities said.
According to police, 32-year-old Jaceil Banks was fatally struck in the chest. Anthonaya Campbell, 17, was shot in the face and remains critically injured. Two others were shot in the back, and a 42-year-old man was struck in the arm. They were taken to area hospitals in stable condition.
Police arrested four males including two teens, ages 16 and 17. All four were charged with murder. Three are facing gang assault and weapons charges.
The victims are among eight people shot in three different shootings that occurred in the Bronx over the weekend.
