
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – At least 12 people were shot—four fatally—overnight in New York City, including five men who were shot after a dispute erupted at a party in Brooklyn, police said Sunday.
The shootings happened in Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx over the span of about four hours, according to police. Eight people were wounded, some of them critically, in addition to the four fatalities.
In Brooklyn, five men were shot, two of them fatally, after an argument at a large party at 101 Wortman Ave. in East New York around 12:30 a.m., police said.
A man began shooting at the Brooklyn Garden event space, according to police, who said the gathering was attended by up to 150 people.
Two men were shot at the party and three men were found shot inside a crashed Infiniti sedan a block away at Georgia and Wortman avenues, police said.
Police believe the two shootings are connected.
A 32-year-old man shot at the party was transported to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his chest and neck, police said.
A 36-year-old man in the car was shot in the head and died at Brookdale Hospital. Another man in the car, also 36, was shot in face, chest and arm; he was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital. They were later identified as Nicholas Palmer, of the Bronx, and Novada Bailey, of Queens.
The third man in the car, 51, was “fighting for his life” after being shot in the right arm, upper back and chest, police said.
About two hours after the shooting, the fifth victim—a 37-year-old man—showed up at Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle with a gunshot wound to his right shoulder. He is expected to survive.
In a separate shooting in East New York, a 25-year-old man was killed near Pennsylvania and Riverdale avenues shortly before 11:30 p.m.
Police said the man was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. A 19-year-old woman was also shot in the body at the location. She was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
A 22-year-old man was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered in that shooting, police said.
Two teens were also wounded in a shooting at a house party near Avenue J and E. 56th Street in the Flatlands in Brooklyn. Police said they were shot following a dispute at the party.
A 19-year-old was struck in the hand and a 17-year-old was hit in the right arm. Both were hospitalized in stable condition.

Two people were also shot in the Bronx, one of them fatally, police said.
In the Morrisania section, a 17-year-old boy was shot twice in the chest at Union Avenue and East 165th Street just before midnight. He was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital. Police later identified him as Xavier Wilson of the Bronx.
And in the South Bronx, a man was shot in the head and taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.
Earlier in the night in Manhattan, a 15-year-old was in a dispute with two other young men, also believed to be in their teens, around 9 p.m. when he was shot multiple times near W. 204th Street and Broadway in Inwood, police said.
The teen was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his chest, leg and arm, police said.
