Boy, 4, caught in crossfire of Upper West Side gun battle

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 4-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet during a gun battle on the Upper West Side early Wednesday, police said.

The boy and a man were caught in the crossfire as two other men shot at each other around 12:30 a.m. near W. 94th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

A stray bullet from the shootout grazed the boy's leg as he stood outside a deli with his mother.

A second bullet grazed the foot of a 35-year-old man, police said.

Both victims were hospitalized in stable condition at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

The two suspects fled the scene, one on foot and the other in a Toyota sedan, police said.

No arrests had been reported as of Wednesday.
