
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Friday released photos of five men accused of using a wooden stick to beat a man on a Queens street earlier this month.
It happened at approximately 4 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, in front of 76-07 Roosevelt Ave. in Jackson Heights.
According to officials, a 36-year-old man was involved in a verbal dispute with the group. The five men then surrounded the victim and began to punch and kick him. One of the men displayed a knife and began to verbally threaten the victim while two others took turns hitting the victim with a wooden stick, authorities said.
The victim sustained serious physical injuries to his head and lower back. He was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst and listed in stable condition.
The suspects fled the location on foot, traveling northbound on 78 Street towards 37th Avenue.
