5 teens arrested for climbing Williamsburg Bridge

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested five teenage boys for climbing one of the Williamsburg Bridge towers on Wednesday night, according to authorities.

At around 7 p.m., officials got a 911 call after four 16-year-olds and a 13-year-old were spotted on the Brooklyn-side of the bridge.

The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit responded and brought the teens down from the East River crossing.

The teens were all placed into custody, issued summonses for criminal trespassing and released to their parents, the NYPD said.
