NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A five-year-old boy was killed by a hit-and-run driver near LaGuardia Airport on Thursday, according to authorities.

The child was crossing the street with his parents around 5:30 p.m. when a white Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling north on McIntosh Street turned on to 100th Street and hit him, said police.
The driver fled the scene, and police have not yet made any arrests.
The boy suffered severe head and body trauma. He was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst.
Police later identified him as Jonathan Martinez. He lived about two blocks away from the scene of the crash.
