NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Six people were injured in an assault inside a Queens school on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Officers responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at New Dawn Charter High School II, located at 89-25 161st St. in Jamaica, at about 12:43 p.m.

Six people suffered minor injuries and were transported to area hospitals, and five of those injured were taken into custody, officials said.
It is not yet known if those involved are students at the school.
The nature of the assault and the circumstances surrounding the attack were not immediately clear.
