NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Mayor Eric Adams was in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to attend the National Prayer Breakfast, where President Donald Trump spoke.
Adams’ schedule showed him attending the annual breakfast in the morning then returning to New York City in the afternoon for a jobs-related announcement in Queens.
The bipartisan breakfast included a presidential address at the U.S. Capitol, as well as a larger event at the Washington Hilton, where Trump also spoke.

While speaking at the Capitol, Trump urged America to “bring God back,” saying his relationship with religion had “changed” after a pair of failed assassination attempts last year.
Amid a health scare of his own in recent weeks, Adams said, “you got to trust in God… There are moments where God has to be real.”

Adams’ trip to the nation’s capital came just a couple of weeks after the mayor attended Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20.
Adams also met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago days before the inauguration to discuss “how the federal government can play a more helpful role in improving the lives of New Yorkers.”
The mayor will return to Washington on March 5 to testify at a House Oversight Committee hearing on sanctuary cities, his office said Wednesday. The mayors of Chicago, Boston and Denver are also expected to attend.
Adams has faced criticism from some fellow Democrats as he has pledged to work with the Trump administration on immigration. The mayor also faces a trial on federal corruption charges in April, though recent reports say U.S. prosecutors have discussed the future of the case, including the possibility of dropping it.
