NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday dismissed a tweet in which Republican Sen. Ted Cruz agreed with her stance on the recent fracas surrounding Robinhood and GameStop, saying she wouldn’t want to work with him because he tried to “get [her] killed” during the Capitol riot.
In a tweet, Ocasio-Cortez called free trading app Robinhood’s decision to prevent users from trading GameStop stock “unacceptable,” while calling for a hearing on the matter.
“Fully agree,” Cruz responded, retweeting Ocasio-Cortez’ tweet.
In her own response tweet, Ocasio-Cortez called on Cruz to resign, referencing his backing of debunked election fraud claims in the days leading up to the Capitol riot.
“I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out,” she wrote. “Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed.”
“While you conveniently talk about ‘moving on,’ a second Capitol police officer lost their life yesterday in the still-raging aftermath of the attacks you had a role in, she added. “This isn’t a joke. We need accountability, and that includes a new Senator from Texas.”
A Texas man who last week was charged with participating in the Capitol siege allegedly made a death threat against Ocasio-Cortez after the riot.
Cruz didn’t immediately respond to Ocasio-Cortez via Twitter after the initial exchange.
