Asian woman randomly punched outside Lower Manhattan flower shop, manhunt on

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating an attack on a 68-year-old Asian woman who was randomly punched in the face in front of a Lower Manhattan flower shop on Tuesday at 10 p.m.

The woman was collecting an item on the sidewalk outside the 179 Mulberry Street store when she was randomly targeted, WABC 7 reports.

The suspect fled the scene. The victim suffered from swelling and pain but refused medical attention.

The city's Hate Crimes Task Force was notified about the incident.

Police said there have been 109 anti-Asian hate crime attacks between Jan. 1 to July 25.
