NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Bronx dad has been arrested after seriously injuring his one-month-old boy while placing him in a car seat, according to a report.
Leroy Peters, 24, allegedly struck the baby's head on a child safety seat handle Friday morning, causing severe trauma to the boy's head, the New York Post reported.
Peters was reportedly heading out to pick up the boy's mother from an overnight shift when the incident occurred. The mom called 911 after she realized the baby was unresponsive in his seat, the paper reported.
Peters was arrested late Friday night on a charge of reckless assault to a child, police confirmed to 1010 WINS.
The baby was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in grave condition, according to the Post.
