NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two new lambs were born during the winter at the Central Park Zoo and made their debut on Friday, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
Bobbin and Sage, born a month apart, have now joined the eight adult sheep at the Tisch Children's Zoo.
Bobbin is 7 weeks old, while Sage is 3 weeks old.
They're both harlequin sheep, a breed introduced to Central Park Zoo in 2022, alongside the two Shetland and Southdown breeds already living there.
Harlequin sheep were developed in Virginia around 40 years ago through crossbreeding eight different breeds, creating a hardy, docile, miniature hornless sheep ideal for small-scale farms.
Harlequin sheep are recognized for their diverse coat colors and fine wool.
