NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Temperatures may reach a record high this weekend, but it’s a winter wonderland at Bryant Park as the Bank of America Winter Village opens for its 22nd season on Friday.
The Winter Village has a number of winter activities and shopping options for New Yorkers and visitors through March 3 (though the Holiday Market closes Jan. 2).
The Holiday Market, curated by Urbanspace Markets, will feature over 190 vendors with shops and kiosks for categories ranging from gifts and apparel to artwork and food.

A 17,000-square-foot ice skating rink dominates the center of the Winter Village and is open daily with free admission through the season. Skate rentals are available on-site, and reservations are now open to book through Nov. 29.
Next to the rink, a festive bar and food area called The Lodge is open, along with the rink, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Each stays open until midnight on weekends in November and December.
Other recreation options are the curling café and bar which offers participants the opportunity to reserve a lane and play iceless curling, open now, and bumper cars on ice which will return to the park in January.
The date and time of the annual tree lighting has yet to be announced.
