Body found in garbage bag at Bronx high-rise

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A body was found inside a garbage bag at a residential high-rise in the Bronx, police said Friday.

The body—of an unidentified man—was discovered around 9 a.m. Thursday at 2225 Lacombe Ave. in the NYCHA Castle Hill Houses.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call found the man "unconscious" inside of the bag in the rear of the building, police said. EMS arrived and soon pronounced him dead.

It's unclear how long the bag had been there before it was discovered.

The city medical examiner is working to determine his cause of death.

His manner of death has not yet been ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been reported as the investigation continues.
