HIT AND RUN: Box truck driver flees Queens crash that killed man, 68

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- The NYPD is investigating after a box truck struck a man in a hit-and-run crash on a Queens expressway Sunday afternoon.

Just before 1:30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision at Nassau and JFK expressways in Springfield Gardens,

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that a box truck was traveling eastbound on the Nassau Expressway struck a Honda CRV that was parked on the shoulder of the Expressway.

The box truck failed to navigate the roadway when it hit the Honda CRV driven by 68-year-old U Fo Ng, according to officials.

EMS transported Ng to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the box truck did not remain on scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
