NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An 11-year-old boy who was riding his bike in Brooklyn’s East New York neighborhood on Friday was struck and dragged by a 58-year-old man driving a Mister Softee ice cream truck with a suspended license, according to police.

The boy was riding his bike on Hendrix Street near Sutter Avenue around 6:45 p.m., when the truck clipped him — knocking him off his bike and throwing him under the vehicle, authorities said.

The truck dragged him a short distance before it came to a stop, witnesses told the New York Daily News.

Emergency responders rushed the child to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition with serious injuries to his head and body.

Driver Juan Remigio, who officiails said had a suspended license, stayed on the scene.

He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to use due care.
