NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An 11-year-old boy is in stable condition after being rescued from a pond at a Queens park on Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Just before 3 p.m., the FDNY responded to the emergency at Springfield Park, located near Springfield Boulevard and 146th Avenue in Springfield Gardens.
Firefighters successfully removed the child from the water and immediately transported him to Northwell Long Island Jewish Valley Stream where he is expected to recover.
Officials have not yet released information regarding how he ended up in the water.
