NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 12-year-old boy was struck by a car in Brooklyn early Sunday morning, and he was transported to the hospital in critical condition, police said.
It happened at about 1 a.m. near Church Avenue and Kings Highway in East Flatbush.
A 28-year-old motorist was driving northbound on Kings Highway in a BMW sedan when he struck the boy, who police said was crossing out of the crosswalk.
EMS transported the child, who was conscious and alert when first responders arrived, to Maimonides Medical Center in critical, but stable, condition.
The driver remained at the scene, and police do not expect any criminality at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
