NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A teen boy was fatally shot outside of a Manhattan apartment building Saturday afternoon, police said Sunday.
Jamere Chapman, 16, was found in front of a Wagner Houses building at 350 East 124 Street around 3:04 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, police said.
Chapman, who lives around the corner from the houses, was transported to NYC Health+Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
Further details around the shooting weren't immediately clear. Sources told the New York Post that surveillance footage at the East Harlem housing complex appearing to show the shooting as it happened, with Chapman grabbing a bag from the male shooter before he opened fire.
