NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man wanted in connection to a gunpoint robbery of a livery cab driver that occurred last week in the Bronx.
The incident occurred on January 26, at 1 p.m., in the vicinity of Hudson Parkway and Mosholu Parkway, authorities said.
According to officials, a 28-year old male cabbie stopped to offer assistance to a vehicle that appeared to have mechanical trouble on the side of the road.
When the suspect, who police describe as a man 20-30 years in age, got into the victim's livery car, he displayed a firearm and demanded money from the driver.
The driver then drove to an undisclosed bank location and removed approximately $1,400 from his bank account and gave it to the individual.
The suspect then exited the victim's livery vehicle and got into a gray SUV that was being driven by an unknown individual and fled the location to parts unknown, police said.
No injuries were reported in this incident.
Police on Tuesday released a video and photo of the suspect, which were taken from the vicinity of the incident location by the victim, during the incident, authorities said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
