NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A shooting in the Bronx on Saturday night killed one man and left another injured, and sources said that police are searching for multiple people that fled the scene on mopeds.

At about 8:53 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired at East 187th Street and Tiebout Avenue in Fordham, and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 23-year-old man was shot in the stomach and buttocks, police said.

EMS transported the victims to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center where the 25-year-old was pronounced dead, and the 23-year-old is in stable condition, officials said.

Police identified the 25-year-old victim as Frankelis Tavarez, who lived in Fordham, a half-mile away from the shooting.

No arrests have been made, but sources told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880 that there were multiple individuals, possibly three or four, that fled the location riding mopeds.

The investigation is ongoing.
