NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A medically unlicensed woman from the Bronx was sentenced to prison on Friday for giving a deadly silicon injection to a woman in 2017, according to prosecutors.
Whalesca Castillo, 49, accepted a plea deal in court and was sentenced to four to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree manslaughter, according to ABC7.
Castillo, who is not a licensed medical professional, administered a fatal silicone butt injection to 43-year-old Lesbia Ayala in June 2017 at a Bronx apartment on Seward Avenue, leading to Ayala's death in 2018, according to court documents.
Since at least 2009, Catillo has imported liquid silicone from the Dominican Republic and administered injections to women for buttocks enhancement, according to prosecutors. She administered these injections in her Bronx home, representing to her clients that they were safe, and charging them hundreds of dollars per
In 2011, she was involved in performing illegal breast and buttocks enhancements in her Mount Eden apartment, charging up to $1,500 for each procedure.
In 2012, she was sentenced to one year in prison and ordered to forfeit $100,000 for charges related to her illegal injection of liquid silicone into women's buttocks, as part of an underground business she ran out of her Bronx home.
She served another nine months in 2014 for continuing those procedures while on supervised release.
In February 2018, she injected Marisol King with dangerous silicone, causing infection and pain.
Later, on June 17, 2018, she performed a fatal illegal injection on Ayala, leading to her death.
Castillo was arrested in 2019 and faced manslaughter and assault charges, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced in Bronx Supreme Court.
