NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The Universal Hip Hop Museum in the Bronx is opening its latest exhibit on Tuesday in preparation for its grand opening in 2024.
Its third exhibit, called the "[R]evolution of Hip Hop," focuses on the years 1986 through 1990.
Co-curator Pete Nice told 1010 WINS that those were key years for the genre.
"A lot of people have dubbed 'the golden era' on this particular group of years just because so many things happened innovatively with hip hop, between MCs with lyricism, production [and] social commentary," he said.

The exhibit can be viewed at the Bronx Terminal Market on Exterior Street throughout the summer.
