NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A woman and man were found dead in their Brooklyn home on Monday morning in what appears to be a murder-suicide, witnessed by the killer’s mother, who shared an apartment with the couple.

According to the NYPD, 29-year-old Tanezia Blockwood and 35-year-old Teddy Knight were found dead with gunshot wounds to the head in the kitchen of an apartment inside 1921 Avenue I, located near Ocean Avenue in Midwood, just after 10 a.m.

Police did not comment further on the incident, but the alleged killer’s mother, Norma Knight, told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880 that she saw the violence begin while she was making breakfast.

According to Knight, an argument broke out between the couple and escalated when Teddy reached into the cupboard for a gun.

Knight said that her son fired off two shots at Blockwood before stomping her in the face.

According to Knight, fights between the couple about money, rent and their two young children were the norm.

“I don’t know, they have [had] problems a long time,” she said.

Neighbor Daniel Desir, who has daughters of his own, told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880 that Blockwood had just finished nursing school.

“She’s such a beautiful and gentle young woman, for something like that to happen to her,” he said.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
