NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A would-be thief repeatedly stabbed a man on a Brooklyn street corner because he didn't have a wallet to give him, police said Wednesday.
The 55-year-old victim was walking at the corner of Fulton Street and Van Siclen Avenue in Cypress Hills at 2:30 a.m. last Wednesday when he was approached by another man.
The man asked the victim for his wallet, and when the victim told him he didn't have a wallet on him, he stabbed him multiple times in the body, police said.
The assailant fled and was last seen headed south on Bradford Avenue. Surveillance images released Wednesday show him around the time of the attack.
The victim was transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
