NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Multiple suspects are wanted for using sledgehammers to break a Queens jewelry store window and steal $800,000 in gems last week.

The NYPD released images Wednesday of three suspects storming Abid Jewelers on 74th Street in Jackson Heights last Friday evening in the braze smash-and-grab theft.

According to police, they hopped out of a white Jeep at 6:20 p.m. and smashed the display window with hammers and sledgehammers.

They removed the $800,000 in jewels before fleeing in the Jeep to 35th Avenue, where they abandoned the Jeep and got into a black sedan.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

The same suspects have been linked to another burglary two days later in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

In that burglary on the afternoon of Dec. 8, four suspects got out of a blue Honda Civic and used sledgehammers and hammers to attempt to smash the display window of Pyramids Jewelry II on Fifth Avenue.

However, they were unable to smash the glass and fled in the Honda, which had Pennsylvania plates LKH8653, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
