NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty NYPD officer held a knife to her nephew's throat in a dispute with her sister about money in Richmond Hill late Thursday, according to police.

The altercation happened as officer Naznin Akter, 29, demanded that her sister allegedly pay her the amount she was owed.

When her sister refused, police said she then grabbed the 17-year-old, threatened him with a knife, and once again demanded the payment.

The boy was fortunately unharmed, police said.

Akter was arrested and charged with assault, menacing, criminal mischief and acting in a manner injuries to a child under 17.

Naznin, who joined the NYPD in 2018 and was assigned to a Manhattan Housing Bureau, was suspended without pay, according to the Daily News.
