NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Hours after former Gov. Andrew Cuomo officially left office, Mayor Bill de Blasio continued his attacks on the now-private citizen.

De Blasio appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Tuesday morning and condemned Cuomo for his "narcissistic" farewell speech.

“Andrew Cuomo could have had a moment of grace, could have talked about the women he wronged, could have talked about the seniors we lost in those nursing homes,” the mayor said. “But there’s a narcissism there.”

De Blasio argued Cuomo's ultimate demise shows how the need for power can spell danger for public officials.

“But in a way maybe it’s a message to people in public life: If you get that much power, if you think the world’s all about you, something bad’s eventually gonna happen to you,” he said. “Because it’s actually supposed to be about something bigger.”

In Cuomo's final address Monday, he blasted Attorney General Letitia James' report on his alleged sexual misconduct, spoke of the state's future and the work that is still left to do, but took a swipe at the outgoing mayor.

"Eric Adams will be the next mayor of New York City," Cuomo said. "I think he’ll bring a new philosophy and competence to the position which can give New York City residents hope for the future."

A minute after Gov. Kathy Hochul was sworn-in during a private ceremony, De Blasio responded by tweeting a picture of the New York City skyline — calling it the "greatest city in the world."

De Blasio said Tuesday he looked forward to working with Hochul and rebuild the state and New York City.

"We have a lot of work to do but imagine doing the work together which wasn't possible ... it wasn't possible with the previous incumbent," he added.
