NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police have classified the death of a 58-year-old woman a homicide after she was found unresponsive in her Queens apartment early Saturday.

Officers discovered the body of Rosa Cruz inside her residence at 90-06 95th Ave. in Ozone Park just after 12:30 a.m.

Police responded to the location to perform a wellness check after an individual reported that they had not heard from her for a while.

Cruz was found unconscious in her bedroom, and medics pronounced her dead at the scene, officials said.

She suffered trauma to her neck and arms, according to a report by AM New York, but it was not immediately clear if that is what killed her.

The medical examiner’s office will determine her exact cause of death.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
