Death of woman in Bronx fire is deemed homicide, 3 months later

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Bronx fire that killed a woman has been deemed a homicide by officials three months later, authorities announced Wednesday.

Just before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, police responded to a 911 call for a fire at 2334 Washington Ave. in Belmont.

EMS transported multiple victims stable condition, for smoke inhalation, and one woman in critical condition, to St. Barnabas Hospital.

The woman, identified by police as 56-year-old Yvette Dargan died.

The fire is being investigated as a homicide.

There have been no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
