NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police discovered the badly decomposed body of a 20-year-old woman inside of her Brooklyn apartment early Thursday during a wellness check, authorities said.
At around 7:20 a.m., responding officers conducting a wellness check discovered the woman's body lying inside the apartment located on President Street near Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights, officials said.
A concerned family member had requested the wellness check after not hearing from the woman in a long time, the NYPD said.
The woman, whose name has not been released, showed no obvious signs of trauma, police said.
The city medical examiner's office will determine the woman's cause of death.
