NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The city busted a Queens catering hall where officials said more than 200 guests were partying in violation of the state's COVID rules this weekend.
The party at the Queens Luxe Banquet Hall on Rockaway Boulevard in South Ozone Park was broken up shortly after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, the NYC Sheriff's Office said.
Over 215 people were inside the banquet hall at the time, according to authorities, who said the partiers weren't wearing masks or social distancing as they danced, drank and smoked hookah.
Deputies issued summonses to the owner and three workers for criminal, health and alcohol offenses.
In addition, authorities said the banquet hall doesn't have a liquor license.
1010 WINS left a voicemail with the company that owns the catering all seeking comment.
Dawn lives nearby and said the party threatened residents.
"Because I have an elderly mother I take care of. I'm a home health aide. If I got sick or something, I'd be putting them at risk if someone over here gave it to anybody in the neighborhood," she said.
