Driver arrested after hit-and-run crash critically injures skater in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a driver accused of striking a skater during an alleged hit-and-run in Brooklyn Tuesday morning.

The incident happened just after 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of 41st Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway in Borough Park.


According to police, the 30-year old driver crashed into the skater causing the car's front window to break.

Police witnessed the crash and saw the driver take off, but were able to pull him over a few blocks away, according to WABC-7.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, officials said.

The driver in custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
