NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A North Carolina woman was arrested after she allegedly crashed a BMW into a Honda Accord in Brooklyn on Tuesday, killing the Accord's 77-year-old passenger, the NYPD said.
Daimel Pippin, 29, of Tarboro, was driving a BMW sedan west on Atlantic Avenue in Cypress Hills around 12:20 a.m. when she crashed into a Honda Accord traveling north on Bradford Street, a preliminary police investigation found.
Pippin's 30-year-old passenger and the Honda Accord's 41-year-old driver were taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center with minor injuries, the NYPD said.
The Honda Accord driver's passenger, a 77-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the same hospital after suffering body trauma, police said. Her name wasn't immediately released.
Pippin was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed driving, operating an unregistered vehicle and driving without a license after the crash, police said.
Her attorney information wasn't immediately available Tuesday. An investigation is ongoing.
