NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A driver died after he crashed into light pole, tree, fence and Jeep in Brooklyn last week, authorities said Tuesday.

Just before 1 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision on the westbound Belt Parkway at Bay 8th Street in Bath Beach.

Further investigation revealed that 23-year-old Egor Doroshuk was driving a 2010 Honda Insight sedan when he failed to navigate the roadway and struck a light pole.

The vehicle then struck a tree and then a metal fence before striking a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was parked and unoccupied.

EMS transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
