Duo hits woman on head, steals her car before Brooklyn crash: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for two suspects accused of stealing a woman's car then crashing it on a Brooklyn street earlier this week, authorities said.

The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 27, inside of a nail salon located at 889 Livonia Avenue in East New York.

According to police, a 48-year-old woman was approached by a suspect who struck her in the head with a plastic bottle.

The suspect then took the victim's car keys and fled the store in her vehicle with a second suspect, police said.

The suspects then collided into another vehicle in the vicinity of Eastern Parkway and Atlantic Avenue, officials said.

The suspects abandoned the stolen vehicle, which has been recovered, and fled the location on foot.
