Queens cyclist, 77, killed in bike accident

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 77-year-old Queens cyclist hit a “road obstruction” on Thursday that threw him from his bike, killing him, police said.

Lin Wen-Chiang was biking by 40th Drive and 95th Street near his home in Corona at around 11:15 p.m. when the accident occurred, according to authorities.

He injured his head when he hit the concrete and was rushed to Elmhurst hospital, where he was declared dead.

It’s unclear what object he struck in the road.

The NYPD High District’s Collision Investigation Squad is looking into the incident.
