The FDNY evacuated everyone inside the building.

There were no construction workers injured in the collapse.

"Everybody did what we had to do and we got out safely," Department Director of Human Services Maria Rivera told WABC-7. "I was very shaken up because it was so loud, it was so deafening, the sound of that crash, I thought something had hit the building."

Rivera also told the outlet that she was grateful that the collapse did not happen on Thursday when seniors line up in front of the building for "Senior Pantry" day.

The cause of the collapse currently remains under investigation.
