NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An adviser to the Colombo family who avoided an arrest by federal authorities that took down 10 members and three associates of the infamous New York City mobster family has turned himself in, according to a new report.
Ralph DiMatteo, 66, was charged alongside the 13 others — including the Colombo mob boss, Andrew “Mush” Russo — with labor racketeering, extortion and money laundering by federal prosecutors on Tuesday.

The New York Daily News reports DiMatteo, the group's "consigliere," fled to Florida after cooperation talks with officials and his attorney faltered.
In a news release announcing the charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York said the defendant remained at-large.
The Daily News previously reported DiMatteo's son, Angelo DiMatteo, seemed to "taunt" officials on his Twitter account, by posting a photo of the 66-year-old in a pool.
DiMatteo reportedly turned himself to federal authorities at the FBI at Federal Plaza in Manhattan.
