NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 12-year-old girl was slashed at a Bronx junior high school on Wednesday, a day after a teen boy was stabbed at a high school in Brooklyn.

The girl was slashed around 9:30 a.m. inside J.H.S. 123 James M. Kieran on Morrison Avenue in Soundview.

The victim suffered a slash wound to the leg and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.

Officers took a person of interest into custody and recovered a knife at the scene, police said.

It was just Tuesday that a 15-year-old boy was stabbed at Edward R. Murrow High School in Midwood, sending the school into an hours-long lockdown.

The victim in that stabbing was hospitalized in stable condition. Another 15-year-old boy surrendered later in the day to face charges.
