NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo is getting support from former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani weeks before the Democratic governor is set to step down.
"Andrew will resurrect himself in some way," he said in an interview with WABC radio host Frank Morano Wednesday. "He's a very, very tough guy, determined guy. He's a fighter."
Giuliani also defended the embattled Democrat against state Attorney General Letitia James, who led an independent investigation into Cuomo that alleged sexual misconduct — calling on her to resign and alleging her inquiry was an attempt to become governor.
"If I was Tish James I would immediately resign as attorney general … You can't tell me this was not a setup for her to become governor."
The former two-term mayor, whose law licenses in New York and Washington D.C. were recently suspended for pushing false election claims, argued James should be disbarred for her actions.
"What she did was so unethical. She should be disbarred for doing that," Giuliani added.
Giuliani took shots at his suspension claiming he was only punished for "speaking" on behalf of former President Donald Trump.
"Not only was I speaking, I was speaking to defend my client," he said.
Giuliani's comments came the same week he joined the personalized online video company Cameo, charging $275 per video.
