VIDEO: Group sought after violently attacking Bronx supermarket workers when confronted for theft

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a group of four individuals following a violent incident that occurred when confronted for theft by employees at a Bronx supermarket on Sunday.

Just after 2 p.m., officials said the group was stealing items from the Fine Fare Supermarket located on Westchester Avenue, in Longwood, when they were confronted by several store employees.

A verbal dispute then escalated into a physical one that resulted in several store employees being punched by the suspects.

One of the individuals brandished a box cutter and slashed one of the employees across his right palm, authorities said.

The individuals then fled the store southbound on Kelley Street.

The victim who sustained lacerations was taken to Lincoln Hospital and is in stable condition, police said.
