Group sought in assault aboard Queens subway train: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a group of suspects who are wanted in connection to an assault that happened aboard a Queens subway train, authorities said.

The incident happened at about 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, when a 56-year-old man was approached by the men while onboard a northbound E train approaching the 36th Street station in Briarwood.

One of the men punched the victim in the head, police said.

The suspects exited the train when it stopped at the 36th Street station and fled to parts unknown.

The victim was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital by EMS in stable condition.
