NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Gunfire sent people scrambling for cover at a Times Square subway station on Monday night, but no one was injured, police said.

Two young men had been arguing near the A/C/E lines of the 42nd Street–Port Authority Bus Terminal station on Eighth Avenue when the gunfire erupted.

Police said at least one shot was fired, maybe two, around 8:30 p.m.

Musician Henny Mack told ABC 7 he was performing at the station when he heard a loud boom like a gunshot.

“I saw a bunch of kids, they was messing around, a bunch of teenagers,” Mack said. “Looked like they was having a good time, then something went off, like a big sound.”

“We just heard a shot in the hallway, and everybody ducked, everybody started running, everybody started screaming,” another performer, Eddie Conner, told CBS 2.

The two men were taken into custody. Charges against them were pending Tuesday as the investigation continued.
