NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 61-year-old homeless man is facing murder charges after he allegedly beat another homeless person to death during an argument at an encampment at a Brooklyn park, police said Monday.
Police arrested Raul Hernandez at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, officials said.
Hernandez was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon
Just after 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, officers responded to a 911 call for an assault in the vicinity of Jamaica Avenue and Cleveland Street in Cypress Hills.
Upon arrival, officers observed a male with trauma to the head.
EMS transported the victim to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
