NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 15-year-old boy died Monday after he was found unresponsive with neck trauma at his Bronx apartment, sources said Tuesday.

Police initially detained the boy's stepfather for questioning, but the man was later released.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call just after 4:15 p.m. found Corde Scott unconscious at the apartment on Doris Street, near Lyon Avenue, in Unionport.

He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation found he’d suffered trauma to his neck area, according to police.

An initial medical examiner's report did not indicate a clear cause of death, though authorities say he was not strangled, did not have a broken neck and did not die of asthma.

Sources initially told 1010 WINS there was some sort of dispute between the teen and his stepfather, and that the the stepfather sought to restrain the teen, who was asthmatic.

It's unclear what role, if any, the stepfather played in the 15-year-old's death, but there are no criminal charges at this time.
