Eight officers fatally shot Walker, an unarmed Black man, more than 60 times after he fled a routine traffic stop and was cornered in a parking lot on June 27.

Peaceful demonstrators organized by Riders for Black Lives gathered at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn around 6:30 p.m. to memorialize walker and protest police violence.

The group marched across the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan, shutting down traffic as they moved.

The protest dispersed with no arrests or violence at Foley Square.

The New York City demonstrators join protesters in Akron who have taken to the straights daily in response to the shooting.

The city implemented a curfew on Monday that was lifted Wednesday, and police have used mass arrests and tear gas on the protesters.

During a trip to Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday, President Joe Biden said the Justice Department and the FBI are monitoring the case and “will take appropriate action” if evidence reveals officers violated federal law.
