The donation was made to Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit with a goal to carry out wreath-laying ceremonies for soldiers who have died, placing the arrangments at every marker Arlington National Cemetery as well as at thousands of veterans’ cemeteries across the country, the nonprofit announced.

“Experiencing the placement of a wreath and knowing the impact that one simple action has for so many, is truly meaningful,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, in a statement. “Teach our children the value of Freedom, touched our hearts. Honored to be part of Wreaths Across America.”

The donation was made in support of a matching campaign running from Nov. 15 to Nov. 30, with the wreaths to be placed on National Wreaths Across America Day, Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021.

There will be ceremonies at 2,800 locations nationwide, according to the nonprofit. Dozens of locations in New York and New Jersey will be participating in ceremonies, according to WAA's website.
