NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – The man found dead in a recycling bin in a Queens TD Bank parking lot in September has been identified as 29-year-old Asliddin Rakhmonov, police announced on Wednesday.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Rakhmonv, of Jamaica, Queens, was the victim of homicide, police confirmed Oct. 27.

The grisly discovery of the body was made around 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 in the parking lot of the TD Bank at 164th Street and Union Avenue in Hillcrest.

A call was made to 911 about a foot sticking out of a 55-gallon blue recycling bin that had been wheeled next to a large dumpster, police said.

While police initially said Sept. 21 that the foot was attached to an entire body, they later clarified that it appeared there was only a body part in the bin.

It's unclear what caused confusion regarding what remains were recovered. As of Oct. 27, the NYPD is reporting that Rakhmonov's entire body was found in the recycling bin.

Maksim Dlugunovich, who lives near the bank, told WABC-TV that he saw the leg protruding from the bin.

“I saw it opened and some stuff hanging out,” Dlugunovich said. “There was some garbage, and I saw a shoe.”

An investigation is ongoing into how the remains ended up at the bank

Another resident, Amir Bedawi, said the entire area had the stench of decomposition.

“Before you could see, you could smell the dead body,” Bedawi said.

The NYPD investigation is ongoing.
